Mayberry Theatre Department is a thriving program that features two main stage shows, a play and musical, as well as many one-act opportunities for Advanced Theatre and thespian students. Don't forget about backstage! Students have opportunities to participate in tech crew, including lights, sound, costumes, props, and more. Mayberry is the proud representation of Junior Thespian Troupe 10646, who focuses on leadership and community outreach with our theatre department.

Choice

Students at Mayberry can choose from many electives and programs designed to help students thrive in life, college and career after graduation. 

CCR/CTE Programs

Wichita Public Schools is proud to offer many opportunities for high school students to prepare for the future through Career & Technical Education pathways. At Mayberry, our focus is on the Introduction to Engineering Pathway.

Band

Beginning in 6th Grade, students have the option to perform all three years at Mayberry. Students can also join the Jazz Band and Pep Band to take their performing experience to another level.

Orchestra

Beginning in 6th Grade, students have the option to perform all three years at Mayberry. Students can also join Chamber Orchestra and the Mariachi Band to take their performing experience to another level.

Drama

Students are introduced to Drama as part of the 6th grade Rotation. Students can continue developing their play writing, performing, and set design skills, with the option of performing in two all school productions - a drama in the fall and a musical in the spring.

Choir

Beginning in 6th grade, students can chose to start their choir experience performing both in the fall and spring at school and for the All-City Competition as 7th and 8th graders.

Athletics

In its 75 year history, Mayberry has produced numerous All-City Championship teams in Cross Country, Volleyball, Boys and Girls Basketball, and Boys and Girls Track.
